Your wardrobe made easy for the school-to-work schedule

Blog by Brooke Pollard

To be honest, I'm more of a track-pants and hoodie for a three hour lecture type of gal. That being said my life has gotten incredibly busier than my first two years of university -- being a full time student with a full time job -- and most days I just don't have time to wear boy clothes and bum out. If this is you and you need an outfit that's suitable for work, but not too over-the-top for class, then keep reading to take a look at some fashion basics you can pair in more ways than one. Here are some of my favourite finds that are cute and stylish, but still comfy enough for a girl on-the-go:

OVER-SIZED BLAZER | Zara Long Blazer

Women's Long Blazer in camel by Zara

Add a pop of colour or maintain your everyday #AllBlack wardrobe with an over-sized blazer. The classic look of a blazer makes it the perfect office savvy attire while the over-sized look adds character and keeps it casual. Dress up an over-sized blazer with a turtle neck, body-con dress or high-wasted skirt like above. Dress it down with a printed tank, pair of ripped jeans or an all-white sneaker.

PLAIN TEE | Dynamite V-Neck Tunic Tee

Women's V-Neck Tee in white by Dymanite

Obviously you can get the classic v-neck tee from almost any clothing store on the map - but these are my personal favourite. I love, love, love the tee's from Dynamite because not only are they a great price, but they're super comfortable - giving the perfect over-sized look with a dramatic scoop at the back. The classic tee is perfect for both school and work, because it can easily be dressed up or down -- added to basically any outfit.

TREGGINGS | H&M Superstrech Tregging

Women's Superstrech Tregging in black by H&M

Trouser leggings are the pleated trouser made comfortable - a.k.a. the perfect mix of work-classy and school-casual. The key is to find a pair of pants you can last a full day of work in before enduring a three-hour night lecture. Shop the racks at H&M to find a suited-pair that can be dressed up with a bow-tie blouse, or dressed down with a classic tee. If treggings aren't your thing then jeggings are the perfect go-to for your school-to-work wardrobe. While incredibly comfortable, they also make for a cute outfit [unlike track pants.]

POINTED-TOE BOOTIE | Steve Madden Pauze

Women's Pauze Booties in black by Steve Madden

Every girl loves a pointed-toe, and to easily dress up or dress down your wardrobe this is the perfect pick. A pointed toe is a working girl classic, but also a fashion forward essential you need to show off at class. The bootie is my personal favourite, but you can also find flats that are just as professional and dress-down casual [Dimitria Flat by Aldo Shoes.]

STRUCTURED PURSE | Kate Spade Cameron Street Candace Satchel

Cameron Street Candace Satchel in black/cement by Kate Spade

The perfect structured bag makes for an organized school-to-work lifestyle. While they are large enough to fit your laptop and books, a structured bag should still be small enough to carry around all day without a hassle. What I love most about a structured satchel is the versatility - you can wear them over-the-shoulder or as a handbag. Match this with a pair of pointed-toe pumps for work or an over-sized cardigan for class.
